A LITTLE NEW MUSIC is the best hour of new and unheard musical theatre material in LA.

Whether a premiere from an established writer or an undiscovered tune from a promising up-and-comer, its mission is to showcase talent with a program that keeps your finger on the pulse of the musical theatre scene.

Since 2013, A Little New Music has introduced an impressive array of nearly 200 songs by established and emerging composers alike, including Tony nominees Pasek & Paul (A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL), Miller & Tysen (TUCK EVERLASTING), Ryan Scott Oliver (35MM), Carmel Dean, Kerrigan & Lowdermilk, Carner & Gregor (ISLAND SONG), Milburn & Vigoda, Adam Gwon (ORDINARY DAYS), Joe Iconis (THE BLACK SUITS), Drew Fornarola (CLAUDIO QUEST), Zoe Sarnak, Erik Przytulski, Michael Finke, Rollins & Levine, Gregory Nabours, and many more.

Songs have been presented by stars of the stage and screen including Tony Award winner Daisy Eagan (THE SECRET GARDEN), Tony Award winning writer Jeff Marx (AVENUE Q), Krysta Rodriguez (SPRING AWAKENING; “Smash”), John Tartaglia (AVENUE Q, SHREK The Musical), Kevin Chamberlin (SEUSSICAL, DISASTER THE MUSICAL) Shoshana Bean (WICKED); Eric Petersen (SCHOOL OF ROCK, ELF, and “Kirstie”), Barrett Foa (25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, “NCIS: LA”), Nicole Parker (WICKED, “MADtv”), and Michael A. A Little New Music provides a dual live and digital platform to introduce the Los Angeles theater community and beyond to the very best of new musical theatre songwriting, connecting writers with a critical, niche audience to broaden their visibility and further artistic development.

Our goal is community building. Our live concerts are fun, entertaining, and polished with an audience comprised of theatergoers, producers, fellow writers, performers, and music lovers with an open mind. Our digital platform offers professional quality footage of presented songs for distribution over social media and embedding for writer and performer portfolios. These two prongs serve to amplify the size of this art form by creating new professional and artistic connections. We reach beyond the insular boundaries of the conventional development process by inviting a broader audience to enjoy the best, new songwriting that is out there. This fosters new collaborations and increased appreciation and participation on all fronts.
