The acclaimed LA musical theater series returns Monday, November 14th.

On Monday, November 14th at 8:30pm, A LITTLE NEW MUSIC returns to the Catalina Jazz Club in the heart of Hollywood for its latest collaboration with emerging musical theater creators and performers from near and far.

The concert features guest writer appearances from:

Matt Gould: Direct from NYC, this formidably talented composer, performer, and musical director will share a sneak peek of his new musical LEMPICKA, a commission for Yale Repertory Theatre with playwright Carson Kreitzer, and a selection of the 2016 NAMT Festival of New Musicals. Gould is the recipient of multiple awards, including a Jonathan Larson Grant. He is the co-writer, with Griffin Matthews, of INVISIBLE THREAD (formerly WITNESS UGANDA), which, directed by Diane Paulus, recently completed successful runs at off Broadway’s Second Stage and Boston’s ART.

Zach Spound: LA’s own multi-talented writer-actor-music director Zach Spound will return to ALNM to perform a world premiere song from his original musical, LEAP.

Musical improv company Robot Teammate & The Accidental Party, winners of A Little New Music’s 2016 Hollywood Fringe Award for Outstanding Songwriting, will share a song from last summer’s THUG TUNNEL, plus give our audience a lens into their process…by improvising a new song on the spot.

Our full program of writers and performers will be announced soon, so stay tuned!

Comedian, actress, and writer Chris Farah (“Superstore,” “Modern Family,” “Chelsea Lately,” solo show/cult character FANCY!) hosts the evening alongside the ALNM band and 2-time Ovation Award-winning musical director and writer Gregory Nabours (THE TROUBLE WITH WORDS, Kennedy Center’s “ASCAP: Part of Broadway: Today and Tomorrow”).

A LITTLE NEW MUSIC is the best hour of new and unheard musical theatre material in LA. Whether a premiere from an established writer or an undiscovered tune from a promising up-and-comer, its mission is to showcase talent with a program that keeps your finger on the pulse of the musical theatre scene.
